The first regional meeting of Volunteers and youth civil associations of the Lambayeque region

On Monday, December 16th in 2013, the JNE organized the first regional meeting of Volunteers and youth civil associations of the Lambayeque region.

In that meeting, Centro ECO participated successfully next to other volunteer organizations and institutions, sharing ideas, goals and motives. The presented institutions agreed on the fact that the environment still has to be improved a lot and that rural poverty has to be eliminated. The participants were convinced that those problems could be solved with social and humanitarian help.

During the meeting, each organization presented its concept and future goals. The concept of Centro Eco is concentrated on the Forest of Pómac. The team of ECO puts a lot of effort in reforesting the dry parts of the forest and furthermore aims to improve the living standard of the people living in that rural area. The concept received a lot of support during the meeting and so did the projects of the other institutions presented.

The organizations will meet again next year in order to present their progress and new goals.

FONDAM regional government, ECO CENTER and SERNANP unite for reforestation

18th June 2013

The cooperation of the community and the ISTP Illimo decide at the World Day of desertification and drought for the forest Pomac, to fight the drought Pomac together. The "Santuario Histórico Bosque de POMAC" is a unit. To maintain the most extensive forest, more than 40 people, including authorities, developers and students came together to celebrate this day.

The locust tree, the dried Western Hemisphere and the various species of flora and fauna were affected by the invasions to 2009. Now institutions want to fight for the environment. As we now know, the desertification is one of the biggest environmental problems for humanity and the negative impacts of climate change and human activities are derived. Therefore experiences teach us that reforestation counteracts the dry forest. In particular, the existing ecosystems, mainly located on the north coast of Peru, represent the main natural vegetation

The survival of the families that live in this habitat, depend on the sustainable use of natural forest resources. Therefore, in the framework of the project is "reforestation of SHBP" is trying to some something about it. This project is financed by the funds of the Company Americas.
